1970s Ronzan Ceramic Leopard Cub – Made in Italy
A wonderfully expressive vintage ceramic leopard cub by Ronzan, made in Italy in the 1970s. With its spotted coat, oversized paws and open mouth revealing tiny teeth, this charming figure combines the presence of a wild cat with the playful character of a young cub.
The glossy ceramic surface features warm shades of golden ochre and orange, fading into creamy ivory along the chest, belly and legs. Black and dark brown spots cover the body, while finely painted whiskers, outlined eyes and a reddish-brown nose bring the face to life. The pink interior of the mouth adds a lovely contrasting detail.
Modelled in an alert, slightly crouching pose, the cub has its head raised and turned to one side, with its tail curling around the back. Its sculptural shape and decoration make it appealing from every angle, whether displayed on a sideboard, bookshelf or console.
A distinctive accent for a 1970s-inspired interior, this little leopard also sits beautifully alongside brass accessories, warm wood, colourful glass and lush green plants. Equally charming displayed alone or as part of a collection of vintage animal ceramics.
